An Hour of Worry Or An Hour of Prayer

Family, I am excited about our coming together this evening for Bible Study as we continue our journey through the book of Job. I believe that the revelation of the character and nature of God coupled with the sometimes difficult understanding of God in the midst of our suffering is a blessing that we are receiving through this study. I pray that you too will be engaged, involved, and present with us. This Bible Study opens up something that I think all Christians need to get better at and that is dealing with worry. As I shared on Sunday from the pulpit, I am a planner and part of the reason why is that I want to minimize the risk of things going wrong. If we are all honest with ourselves

Are you wise?

Beloved, Many of us admire those who know exactly what to say, when to say it and, most importantly, how to say it. We call them wise. Can all of us be wise? Perhaps. James 3:13-18 tells us, "Who is wise and understanding among you? Show by your good life that your works are done with gentleness born of wisdom. But if you have bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not be boastful and false to the truth. Such wisdom does not come down from above, but is earthly, unspiritual, devilish. For where there is envy and selfish ambition, there will also be disorder and wickedness of every kind. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, ful

Services for Sister Nelsie Wright

Beloved, As I have made you aware, Sister Nelsie Wright departed for her heavenly home on this past Saturday morning. The celebration, her homegoing services, will take place at Zion Memorial on Thursday, September 21st, at 1pm with visitation at 12:30pm. I ask that you be in prayer for the family as we prepare for the service and for them to feel the covering and presence of God as they deal with the loss. Let them know you are there for them. Let them feel your love. Be blessed, Rev. Cain

Prayers for the Wright, McCall and Fennell Family

Church Family, Earlier today, Sister Nelsie Wright took her final breath and received her final rest on this side of glory. I was able to spend some time with the family and we prayed together. I believe the healing from the pain of loss has begun; but, they are going to need our prayers and our presence. As you are led by the Holy Spirit to respond, please do not hesitate. Respond. Keep them in your prayers! Be blessed, Rev. Cain

God Remembers You

StartFragmentBeloved, It is Wednesday. We are halfway through the week and almost ready for the weekend to come upon us. Remember we have the Women's luncheon on Saturday at 11am and remember we will have Reverend Beverly Alexander bringing us the word on Sunday morning for Women's Day. Remember to invite family and friends to join with us for these joyous times of coming together. And, next Wednesday, remember we will begin our Bible Study on the book of Job. Remember, no Bible Study tonight but do remember that we will gather again next Wednesday...and remember to bring somebody with you to be a part of our family. Wow!!! So much to remember and so much to do. Of all the things that w

Rest

Church family, We were blessed with a full week of activity this past week and I pray you felt the presence of God through it all. It has been impressed upon me that after such fervent commitment from so many of you, we need a little time to catch our breath as a church. We need to rest. So, we will not have the executive committee meeting this evening or Bible Study on Wednesday. We will take this week off for those specific areas related to me calling for your partial or complete presence. We will rest from those activities this week and pick back up next week, prayerfully more renewed, invigorated and excited about what God is doing at Zion Memorial, a growing church. Do understand that

Blessed and Busy Weekend

Church Family, Zion Memorial is going to blessed and busy this weekend. On Saturday morning at 9am, we will have an Evangelism seminar with Rev. Estella Feaster of North East Baptist Church. A light breakfast will be served. If you can, you should be there and invite somebody. On Saturday afternoon at 1pm for visitation and 2pm for funeral services, we will celebrate the homegoing service for Mother/Sister Geraldine Cunningham. If you can, you should be there. On Sunday morning, we will have Sunday School at 9:30am and worship service at 11am where Rev. Feaster will bless us with the word. If you can be there, you should be there and invite somebody. God is giving us a wonderful weekend.

You Are A Living Testimony

Beloved, I pray that my note finds you being blessed and knowing that you are blessed. We have come to call Wednesday "Hump Day" as it is in the middle of the week. I pray that Wednesday as well as the other six days of the week are your "Hope Days" as God continues to reveal that you are truly saved and are a witness to others of what you have received because of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ. Did you know that hope is not something you should just have but that it is also something that you should also give? Your life, your life story, should be one filled with hope that brims over into the lives of others. When people hear your name, it should be associated with hope. When you
