Prayers for Leslie Gaynor

Church family, I am requesting prayers on behalf of Trustee Sister Leslie Gaynor who was admitted to the hospital for a medical condition. I have visited with her and she is progressing well. Visits are not appropriate at this time as she needs rest. Prayerfully, she will be released in a few days. Again, for now, please keep her lifted up in prayer. Be blessed, Rev. Cain

If You Need It, God Has Got It

Beloved, Life has a way of bringing us to certain points and times when we have to separate our needs from our wants. Things that we want are discretionary, not absolutely necessary. Our needs, unmet, will lead us to disaster and, ultimately, death. Please remember that God, in Jesus Christ, desires that you have life and have it more abundantly. In the wilderness, in traveling from Egypt to the Promised Land, the Israelites needed food not a three-course dinner. And, what did God do? God gave them quail from the earth, manna from the sky, and water from a rock. Why? God knew that they needed it. In our health, wealth, and relationships, we all have needs, things that are not discreti

Love God And Love Others Too

Beloved, It is Wednesday and I am excited about the prospects of what God is going to do for, through and in each of us this day. It is also HOPE Wednesday and we have a summer mini lesson, "Peace That Passes All Understanding". It will actually prove to be a bit of an introduction to the message we have on Sunday, "Pass The Peace". I pray you will come and bring others with you. I also ask that you keep Deacon Tommie Speaks in your prayers. He had to go to the hospital for evaluation. He is coming along and the family asks that you keep him in your prayers but let him rest for a bit. In praying for others, we find ways to share our care and concern for them. The love that we have for

You Have Got To Love A God Like This

Beloved, As summer is winding down, vacation season is ending and giving way to Fall then Winter, I pray that you are enjoying each day as if it is your last. Sickness and death is all around us; but, so is healing and deliverance such that we should retain our hope in God. The year of 2019 is rapidly moving towards an end with a new year ready to begin. Days of goodness and happiness transition into days of challenge and sadness...and then the pendulum swings the other way with days of challenge and sadness transitioning into days of goodness and happiness. But, depending on your perspective with God, you can allow the negative to overwhelm the positive that comes from being a child of the

Weaker Christians Are Still Christians

Beloved, As I relayed in my phone tree message yesterday, I am so thankful to all of you for your calls, cards, texts, emails, gifts, words, hugs, any and all expressions of love, support, care and concern during this period of bereavement after the loss of my father. As I have shared with some, I have learned that when someone asks, "Are you okay? Are you alright?", there are different shades, levels, and degrees of okay and alright that I am going through at any particular moment. And, I am so thankful to God that I am experiencing this as I know it will strengthen my empathy and strengthen my ministry. You see, we are all weak in some areas of our lives and in our weakness, we can expr
