God Is Always Looking Out For You

Beloved,

We are getting close to a milestone. We are closing in on our first complete calendar month dealing with the coronavirus, COVID-19. Hallelujah! Thank you God for bringing us through.

It might seem odd and strange at this time to celebrate during this time; but, celebrate we must. Victories come in all shapes, forms, and sizes. And, making it safely and successfully through our first full month of COVID-19, the month of April, is reason to celebrate.

The old adage goes, "April showers. May flowers." Beloved, some of us have shed tears, literally and figuratively, during these challenging times. My hope and prayer is that we will see our tears rewarded with new revelation and opportunity as God continues to guide us through.

And, beloved, God will guide us through these times.

When you chose to give your life to God through Jesus Christ as guided by the Holy Spirit, you made a decision for eternity when you chose to take on the covering, keeping, provision, and protection of God instead of continuing to seek to do it your own way.

And, beloved, God lovingly welcomed you into His family and He is always looking out for you.

In Ezekiel 34:15-16, God said, "I myself will be the shepherd of my sheep, and I will make them lie down, says the Lord. I will seek the lost (Who me? Yes you!), and I will bring back the strayed (Who me? Yes you!), and I will bind up the injured (Who me? Yes you!), and I will strengthen the weak (Who me? Yes you!)."

Beloved, the promises that God made to Israel are the promises that have been extended to cover you as Jesus said that He had sheep of another flock that must be welcomed in so that there will be one fold. We are a part of those sheep and we have been brought into the fold of God with all the rights and privileges, grace and mercy, faith and love from God as His original chosen people.

God is our creator. God is our Savior. God is our Lord. God is comforter. God is our Heavenly Father. God is our shepherd.

Whether you are lost, strayed, injured or weak, God has promised to seek you, bring you back, heal you, and strengthen you.

No one and nothing else can make and, most importantly, keep such a promise to you.

Parents, family and friends cannot give you such a guarantee.

Education, experience, and job cannot give you that kind of insurance.

Fate, fame and fortune cannot give you such certainty.

All these are fleeting while God always remains.

While other people and things may want to look out for you, the passage of time will prove them too weak and too temporal to do so.

BUT, God is always looking out for you!

Beloved, again, I hope and pray that you will celebrate the minor but so important victories that we are gaining day by day as we move through the COVID-19 pandemic. Do not let this discomforting time in history rob you of your peace, joy, and faith. Keep your eyes on God and let Him show you the best way forward. He has always been there for you and He always will be.

I look forward to connecting with you today for Noonday Prayer and HOPE Wednesday at 6:30pm. As always, I hope and pray you will connect with us and I encourage you to invite others to do so as well. We will make it through this together.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
