The Impossible Is Possible With God

Beloved,

We had a grand time together in the Lord on Sunday. I am still overjoyed with the vision in my mind of the church standing and singing, "It's a family affair" and "There ain't no party like a Holy Ghost party because a Holy Ghost party don't stop". Nothing done for show but all done for the glory of God.

I am so thankful that we are growing in a way that we will risk gravitating away from tradition to embrace God revealing Himself to us in new ways.

If some of us had told somebody that we would do that in Zion Memorial, they would have said, "Impossible."

And, I pray that you would quickly respond, "The impossible is possible with God."

That way of thinking goes all the way back to Genesis, the creation of the world, and into Matthew, the narrative about the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ.

For, Mary and her cousin, Elizabeth, had the impossible happen to them because of God.

Matthew 1:34-37 tells us,

"Mary said to the angel, 'How can this be (having a child), since I am a virgin?' The angel said to her, 'The Holy Spirit will come upon you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you, therefore the child to be born will be holy, he will be called Son of God. And now, your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son; and this is the sixth month for her who was said to be barren. For nothing will be impossible with God.'"

My mothers and fathers in Christ, my brothers and sisters in Christ, my sons and daughters in Christ, have you started shouting, "Halleluhah" yet?

You should because that God is your God and nothing is impossible with God.

Whether you are young or old, rich or poor, healthy or ill, famous or unknown, if God could impregnate a teenage girl and a barren old woman, if God could use one of their sons to save the world and the other be the forerunner for the one who would save the world, if God could take one son to die on the cross for our sins and allow the beheading of the other because he believed in the one who would die for our sins, if both sons would die shameful deaths only to have their names raised in glorious honor forever, then what is impossible to God?

I think the simple answer is "Nothing".

So, whatever you are facing right now, put a smile on your face, hold your shoulders back, stick your chest out, and begin praising the God who can do anything but fail you.

As we get closer to Christmas, I pray you will focus more and more on what it means.

And what it means is that God stepped out of heaven into your reality, your life, to save you from the consequences of a dying world that has no plans for you beyond the life that you currently live; but, God has planned for you to have eternal life in a joyful, blissful, neverending existence through belief in the son of Mary, that most miraculous of miracle children, Jesus.

If it sounds like a fairy tale, it is not.

If it sounds like make believe, it is not.

If it sounds impossible, it is not.

Why? The impossible is possible with God.

Take your impossible to Him and see what He will do with it.

And have a Merry Christmas!!!

I will miss being with you this evening as HOPE Wednesday will not be held until the New Year.

I hope and pray these messages will continue to encourage you and perhaps others who you may share them with.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
