Don't Get In The Way Of Your Own Blessing

Beloved,

It is Wednesday, HOPE Wednesday, the day that we set aside for an Hour Of Power and Encouragement. So much is going on in our lives, individually and collectively, that I pray that you will find the joy in coming together.

In our coming together, we learn how to be blessed as well as how to be a blessing. Both worthwhile and both necessary as we seek to work out our soul salvation.

Speaking of blessings, do we not love when God blesses us?

Would you purpose to do anything to get in the way of your blessings?

But, do you get in the way of your own blessings?

It happens all the time when we get out of the will of God.

King Solomon, the wisest man to have ever lived, was warned by God about getting in the way of his own blessing.

First, God made a promise and we know that God does not break promises; but, God's promises do sometimes come with conditions.

In 2 Chronicles 7:16, God said,

"For now I have chosen and consecrated this house so that my name may be there forever; my eyes and my heart will be there for all time."

God was rewarding Solomon with a word of elevation for the work he had done in completing the temple.

The temple would be the place where God would dwell and His people would meet with Him.

Do know that you are God's temple where God the Holy Spirit dwells. As God would be in the temple of Solomon, God dwells in the temple of Y-O-U.

And, that is a blessing.

But, God's promise has conditions.

He told Solomon in 2 Chronicles 7:19-20,

"But if you turn aside and forsake my statutes and my commandments that I have set before you, and go and serve other gods and worship them, then I will pluck you up from the land that I have given you; and this house, which I have consecrated for my name, I will cast out of my sight, and will make it a proverb and a byword among all peoples."

God wants to bless you; but, you have to meet the conditions.

And, what are the conditions? Obedience.

We can always do what we want to do; but, it is always best to seek to do what God wants us to do.

Why? So that we do not get in the way of our own blessing.

Come tonight at 6:30 for us to continue to obediently do what God tells us in terms of not forsaking the assembling with the believers. It may be how you will get or continue to get your blessings.

And, if you are blessed in coming together, please be a blessing to others and invite them to come with you.

If each of us invited just one person to come worship with us and they came, we could fill up our sanctuary. I believe that we each know at least one person who is unsaved, unsure, unchurched, or saved and not going to church on a regular basis.

If Zion is the place for you, might Zion also be the place for them?

Maybe it is time for you to ask somebody to come be with you at Zion as you make yourself available to be with them wherever you choose to meet.

That is not a tall request or an unrealistic goal. Think about it. Pray about it. And, do what God would have you to do about it.

Hope to see you tonight...and maybe that friend or family member who you choose to invite.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
