You Can Believe In God...And You Should

Beloved,

How wonderful it was to see so many of you on Sunday and what a blessed day it was!!! We got to see two young men get baptized. Both had given their lives to Christ at Vacation Bible School. Thank God for giving us that teaching ministry and for us continuing to let ourselves be used in His service to bring the lost to Christ. We also extended the right hand of fellowship to three members, two returning to Zion Memorial. Finally, we had one person come forth to join Zion Memorial. I am getting full all over again just thinking about what God did and is doing in us and through us.

And, as if that was not enough, we had a planning session for this year's Friends, Family and Community Day. These are exciting times to be a part of Zion Memorial.

And, the excitement of the times is because of the excitement we should have in anticipating the times to come.

What do I mean?

What I mean is that Jesus has promised that He is coming back. All of our work, as the church, as the Body of Christ, as Christians, is not simply for the hear and now. Some of us get tired and distracted by the routine of doing church. But, we should get excited about the opportunity to be church because it is through us that we get to show people the way, the truth and the life, Jesus.

And, as we look to eternal life, let us dare to bring some of the promises of Christ into the world today.

If there is to be a day when there is no more darkness, sorrow or tears, then let us dare to live as if we expect for that day to come and not be dragged down in despair when things do not go our way. No. Let us dare to live victoriously as more than conquerors as the word of God says that we are.

If there is to be a day when sickness and death will come to an end, not with eternal death but with eternal life, then let us dare to live as if healing and deliverance are available to us each and every day.

And, if there is to be a day when we will see our Lord and Savior face to face, then let us dare to live as if it is surely going to happen and that He is as overjoyed as we should be that everyday brings us closer to being with Him such that everyday is a day of thanksgiving on this side of glory as we anticipate being on the other side of glory.

And, our joy should be even greater when we remember that He planned it all. He paid it all. And, He will do it all. All we need to do is have faith in Him and hope in Him.

For as Hebrews 10:23 tells us,

"Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who has promised is faithful. And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good deeds, not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Beloved, let this day and the days to come be days that your faith and hope in Christ and His return shape your emotions, your thoughts, your words and your deeds. For in your emotions, your thoughts, your words, and your deeds, you reveal your faith and hope.

If your faith and hope is in Christ, and I pray that it has been growing ever the more so since you received salvation, then you ought to live as if you believe in God.

His word is true; therefore, you can believe in God...and you should.

Live His true word in your life today and forevermore.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
