Church Family,

The 75th Anniversary celebration has gotten off to a phenomenal start with the Youth Choir Alumni concert on Friday evening.  It was fantastic, well done and well attended, the Zion Memorial way.

To help to enhance our celebration at the anniversary banquet, the committee is requesting additional pictures that may be shown at the event.  All submitted may not be used and will be chosen at the committee’s discretio...

Church Family,

I want to update you on a couple of church events that have occurred and will be upcoming.

Yesterday was a great day for Zion Memorial.  75th Church Anniversary Chairperson Shaketa Rorie and I had the opportunity to speak on the church's behalf on The Light radio station with Anita "Boss Lady" Dean-Arnette.  Those who listened in gave encouraging words that things went well and I believe the church should be pleas...

Beloved,

I hope and pray that your Thanksgiving holiday was truly a day of thanksgiving as we know that every day should be.

I enjoyed time with family and friends while also thinking of you, my beloved Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church family.  We spent some time remembering our loved ones who have transitioned to the other side of glory and we celebrated the recent homegoing of my father, our first Thanksgiving without...

My beloved and wonderful Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church Family,

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!!

May the day be one of joy, pleasant reflection, delicious food, and uplifting fellowship with family and friends.

I look forward to seeing you on Sunday.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain

Beloved,

It is cold.  It is raining.  It looks gloomy outside, a day better spent wrapped up in a blanket or under the covers watching your favorite movie or tv show.  And, you know what else?  It is a great day to be alive.

I am so excited about what God is doing for, through, and by Zion Memorial Missionary Baptist Church and I hope and pray you are excited too.

Now, my excitement is not and cannot be...

Beloved,

This is the day.  It is HOPE Wednesday although we will not gather for our typical meeting this evening as I am having surgery on my knee.  I want to thank you right now for the prayers, the texts, and the emails.  Your love is flowing and is greatly appreciated.

Your love is flowing as God's love flows.  And, that is the way it is supposed to be because you are the Body of Christ.  You are God's people.  You...

Beloved,

On this cold, and I do mean cold, Wednesday morning, many of us are stirring or have already begun our day.  We know what we need to do to fulfill our duties on our job, for our families and friends, our commitments.  It being cold outside is a condition that could be an excuse if we let it keep us from doing what we know we are supposed to do...the way that we are supposed to do it.

As Christians, the world can so...

Beloved,

What a wonderful Wednesday we have before us!  Although we do not have HOPE Wednesday this evening, we do have a day full of hope.  God, our Heavenly Father, is ever present, ever available, ever powerful, and ever loving.  Our present, available, powerful and loving God watches over us always.

If we know that God is always watching us, why do we sometimes, often if we are really honest, look away from God?

Whe...

Beloved,

I am prayerful for and over all of you.  The world can be a difficult place to navigate sometimes.  We have challenges in our health as evidenced by those who we know who are in the hospital, in rehabilitation centers, on bed rest at home, in hospice, or those who we have to say goodbye to as they transition from one side of glory to the next.  We have challenges in our wealth with jobs that can sometimes seem good but...

Beloved,

Today, I had to get up early this morning to get my son, Preston, to school for a trip that his class is taking to Charleston, SC.  Getting up early was not too much of a challenge.  I am typically an early riser, first one up in the family on most days.  Having to send my son off into the unknown without me is a different matter.

Having 5 children, my wife and I have gone through successive rights...
