You Need To Act Like You Know The Lord

My Dear Zion Memorial Church Family,

As I type out these words, I am looking outside and thanking God for the gloomy skies that are full of the possibility of rain, as evidenced by what we have received over the last couple of days. You see in the rain, rain that might disrupt your plans to be out and about, we also have that woefully needed water for our lawns, crops, rivers, streams, lakes and ponds. The inconvenience makes our lives possible. For, without the rain, we would die.

Basically, God knows what God is doing.

I do not have to recount all of the challenging disruptions, issues, situations and circumstances that plague us well beyond the rain. The media will give you a buffet of something to be worried about; but, the media does not give you the nourishment that you need to deal with all that can concern us.

Only God can do that and, again, God knows what God is doing.

If you can trust that God knows what God is doing, then you might have everything that you need to peacefully, joyfully, soundly, and, dare I type, powerfully, face all that is going on. If you do not, I want to encourage you in something.

You need to act like you know the Lord.

That might not have resonated quite the right way so let me try again.

YOU NEED TO ACT LIKE YOU KNOW THE LORD!!!

Isaiah 40:28-29 tells us about the Lord we are supposed to know, trust, believe, love and have faith in.

The scripture reads, "Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and strengthens the powerless."

Now, as the prophet, Isaiah, asked rhetorically, "Didn't you already know all of that about God? Haven't you already heard all of that about God?"

Beloved, of course we know that and have heard that; BUT, do we act like we know that, have heard that, and, most importantly, BELIEVE that?

God, the everlasting God, it is He and He alone who created the earth. You need to act like you know that about God.

God, the everlasting God, it is He who is omnipotent, never gets tired, and never needs to be refreshed. You need to act like you know that about God.

God, the everlasting God, it is He who is omniscient and omnipresent, knowing and bestowing wisdom beyond the comprehension of humankind to those who come to Him. You need to act like you know that about God.

God, the everlasting God, it is He who sees you in your weakness and makes you strong to press on through one more day. You need to act like you know that about God.

God, the everlasting God, it is He who knows when your oppressors - be they physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual - try to overwhelm you and loves you too much to give you anything other than eventual victory. You need to act like you know that about God.

And, when I type out God, I do mean the Lord, the ruler of Heaven and Earth, the Giver of Life and Life Everlasting, our Heavenly Father.

Beloved, please do not let your acknowledgement of God be limited to Sunday morning or when your next problem comes around. Some of us take God for granted in that way.

Instead, live every day in the comfort of knowing that God is ever-present, ever-powerful, ever-loving, and ever-faithful.

He is yours 24/7 and you should be His 24/7.

You need to act like you know the Lord.

I hope to connect with you and the Lord at Noonday prayer where we will pray with and for each other in seeking deeper, stronger, more fervent and effectual relationships with the Lord, our God, our Heavenly Father. It will only take a few minutes out of your day that may actually help to change your life for the better.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed, Rev. Cain
