Destiny

Beloved,

We are on the cusp of the 75th Church Anniversary banquet and worship service on Saturday and Sunday, respectively. God has done a mighty work through the faithful at Zion Memorial and we should be overjoyed to celebrate. So, we will be overjoyed and we will celebrate.

But, it is not the passage of time that we truly should celebrate. No, it is the passage of time that is leading to the day that will come, the day when our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, returns.

You see beloved, you have a destiny.

I Thessalonians 5:1-2, 9 tells us, "Now concerning the times and the seasons, brothers and sisters, you do not need to have anything written to you. For you yourselves know very well that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night...For God has destined us not for wrath but for obtaining salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Beloved, life is for the living and how you live your life right now will determine how you will live the rest of your life, eternally with God or eternally without Him; but, we should be encouraged in knowing the truth that He is coming back.

When will He return? Know one but God knows.

Will He return? Yes He will.

And, when He returns, destiny will be revealed for those who believe and those who do not.

The saved, the saints, the redeemed from their sins will receive the end of their faith walk, salvation.

Salvation is an event. Salvation is a journey. Salvation is a destination. And, salvation is a destiny.

For 75 years, Zion Memorial has been leading the lost to salvation - the event, the journey, the destination, the destiny.

It is always around us, always upon us, urging us on to the intended end for the faithful, the day and time when we will be with Jesus.

We have a destiny.

I pray that as we come closer to the blessed events on Saturday and Sunday, your excitement and enthusiasm will grow.

I also pray that as we come closer to the blessed event of our Lord and Savior's return, your excitement and enthusiasm will grow exponentially.

Our waiting will not be in vain.

Tonight, we will finish our study and journey on the fruits of the Spirit with Self-Control. If you have never come, let this be the night you press your way. For those who have been coming, finish the journey well as you seek to fulfill your destiny. And, as always, I encourage you to bring someone with you to share in your journey and your destiny.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!
