Christ Has Come And Made Us New!

Beloved,

I sincerely hope and pray that your Christmas Day celebration was one filled with joy, peace and comfort surrounded by loving family and friends.  I also hope and pray that you found some way to keep the Christ in Christmas.  Finally, I hope and pray that you have kept the Christ in you to continue to help you to see the blessed revelation of God as you face each day.

Our past is history.  We can remember it but never revisit it.

Our present is our story.  We can live it based on what was and what is to come.

Our future is His story.  We can only experience it as He gives it to us.

And, in Him, what do we have with all of these stories - past, present, and future?

2 Corinthians 5:17 tells us,

"So if anyone is in Christ, there is a new creation: everything old has passed away; see, everything has become new!"

Before Christ, before you truly received Christmas (the celebration of the birth of Christ), you were living an old way, a known way, the way of the world.

But, the way of the world has always been one of fits and starts in trying to follow God without much continuous success.  Adam and Eve were the original ways of the world people and while we have different stories, we all have a common story of failing to be all that God would have us to be without God.

Our stories are old, tired, and should be retired to make room for God's reassignment of our lives and therefore our stories.

You see, your story of failing that may have labeled you a failure in the eyes of some, many, perhaps even your own, can be your story of victory in Christ as He takes what was and makes it into something unimaginably incredible.

You see, in Christ, you do not just get a new path, a new direction, or a new start.  Instead, in Christ, you become new.

Your name becomes something new.

Your life becomes something new.

Your story becomes something new.

Are you experiencing and living your new?

It is the day after Christmas.  It is time.  Experience the newness promised to you today!

We, as a church family, are here for each other to help to live out the new that God has promised us in Christ.

Thank God for our church family!

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too!

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
