God Has It All In Control

Beloved,

First, thank you so much for your calls, cards, texts, emails, and gifts to celebrate my 51st birthday which occurred yesterday. As I have prayerfully tried to pour myself lovingly into you, it is quite wonderful for you to take the time to reciprocate. As the Word of God tells us, they will know you by your love. I know you better and I am better for it.

As one grows older, which is a blessing in itself, we should also strive to grow wiser which can be a challenge in itself.

We sometimes can feel overwhelmed by all that is going on around us - in our lives, the lives of others, the world in general and our part in it specifically.

Do you ever feel overwhelmed?

Do circumstances ever feel beyond your control?

Do you sometimes want to just close and lock the door to your room, turn off the lights, and bury your head in your pillow to shut everything out in an attempt to just get a little more peace?

Or is it just me?

Whenever I feel the desire to tune out, I also feel the Holy Spirit encouraging me to press on. And, the validation of the Holy Spirit's encouragement always comes in the word of God, the Holy Bible.

The prophet Micah wrote in Micah 7:7-8,

"But as for me, I will look to the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy; when I fall, I shall rise; when I sit in darkness, the Lord will be a light to me."

Do you have the boldness and conviction to talk to your problems, issues, concerns, and circumstances in this way?

If you do not have the words, you can always quote the word of God and speak God's blessings over your life into the world that you are living in right now.

You might even want to paraphrase and put it into your own words.

You might say something like,

"I know I have difficult problems, challenges and circumstances; but, I will not give up because I know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that God is on my side. No one should think that I am beaten because God will give me victory. And, even when I do not know the way, I know that God does and I will follow Him as He leads me."

Speak these words into your life with confidence because we, as Christians, know that God has it all in control. Nothing, nothing, nothing happens outside of His perfect or permissive will. And, if He allows it in your life, He is also expecting to get some glory from it in some way.

As you can trust that your problems or challenges are real and can seem big, know that your God is also real and bigger than anything that is coming against you.

He has it all in control.

Again, thank you for celebrating me on my special day. It shows me that you love me as I try to love you.

Come out to HOPE Wednesday this evening as we continue to strive to get better equipped to be the Christians that God desires for us to be so that our love will continue to grow for God and His ministry in and through us.

And, remember, God loves you and I love you too.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
