God Remembers You

Beloved,

It is Wednesday.  We are halfway through the week and almost ready for the weekend to come upon us.  Remember we have the Women's luncheon on Saturday at 11am and remember we will have Reverend Beverly Alexander bringing us the word on Sunday morning for Women's Day.  Remember to invite family and friends to join with us for these joyous times of coming together.

And, next Wednesday, remember we will begin our Bible Study on the book of Job.  Remember, no Bible Study tonight but do remember that we will gather again next Wednesday...and remember to bring somebody with you to be a part of our family.

Wow!!!  So much to remember and so much to do.

Of all the things that we have to remember, do remember that God remembers you.

The word "remember" is an interesting word.  We would typically define it as bringing something back that was forgotten.

I would ask you to consider thinking about defining it as bringing something back that belongs.

A member is something that is a part of something without which the whole would be incomplete.

When you remember, you put that something back in the place that it belongs.

As Christians, we struggle to forget our sins that can sometimes distance us in our relationship with God.

God does not desire distance.  God desires fellowship.  God desires us.

What do we want?  I think that David said it well in Psalm 25:7,

"Do not remember the sins of my youth or my transgressions; according to your steadfast love remember me, for your goodness' sake, O Lord!"

God knows your past and your stumbles; but, God also knows that God loves you.

Is that not wonderful?  In spite of what you have done, God loves you and through His Son, our Lord and Savior, Jesus the Christ, God can and will look past your sins and remember you.  He will bring you back into relationship with Him.

How do we know?

Hebrews 8:12 tells us,

"For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more."

Think about that when somebody is trying to down you about what you did and who you used to be.

God has forgiven and God has chosen to remember you but not your sins.

God does not want your sins to be a part of who you are or who you will be.

God wants you to be a part of His plans for building His kingdom.

He does not need your sin; but, He does need you.

So, He forgets your sin and He remembers you.  He places you back in the place where you can be your best for Him.

Think on that.  Pray about that.  And see how God will reveal more of Himself to you, in you and through you.

Be blessed,

Rev. Cain
